Police had previously pleaded with the public, asking people to keep their eyes open for her blue Chevrolet Astro minivan.

On Monday, Cochrane RCMP discovered Coates’ minivan in a secluded area approximately 50 kilometers west of Cochrane, on the Morley First Nation Reserve.

Officers conducted a physical search of the area, but didn’t find Coates’ remains.

Investigators say her disappearance is not considered suspicious and the investigation is continuing.
