TORONTO — Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds got a very unique 37th birthday present Wednesday — a wax likeness of himself from Madame Tussauds Hollywood.

The Vancouver-born star inspected the full-size figure in New Orleans, where he is working on the new movie Selfless.

“This is undoubtedly the largest and most spectacular birthday candle I’ve ever received,” Reynolds quipped.

According to Madame Tussauds Hollywood, 20 artists spent months to create the Reynolds replica using about 330 pounds of clay.

“Thank you to everyone for their hard work and talent,” said Reynolds.

Madame Tussauds Hollywood chose to immortalize Reynolds after a public vote on Facebook. He beat out fellow Canadian Ryan Gosling as well as stars like Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Hudson and Sofia Vergara.

The wax Reynolds will go on display at the Hollywood Boulevard museum on Oct. 29. He won’t be the only Canadian on display — singer Justin Bieber is already part of the collection.
