Police and family appeal for info on missing woman

If Ashleigh Lee Pettman is still alive, she would be 23 years old now.

Pettman was 18 when she disappeared on June 1, 2005. At the time of the disappearance Pettman was living on the streets as what police describe as an “at-risk youth.”

The disappearance was not reported to police until later that month.

According to police, they’ve investigated every possible lead and tried everything in their power to locate the woman, but to no avail.

Police are appealing to the public in an effort to generate new leads in the case.

Cst. Steve Holmes with Kelowna RCMP says they’re appealing to the public for assistance so that anyone who may have forgotten or been hesitant about coming forward with information will be prompted to do so.

Cst. Holmes said the police are hopeful that Pettman is still out there alive, and noted in this particular case there is “no evidence to suggest that she’s met with foul play".

Pettman is described as 5’4″, 95 lbs and blonde with green eyes.

On Facebook, friends and relatives in the group “Finding Ashleigh”, dedicated to finding Pettman, have posted their hopes for her safe return over the last few weeks.

Police are asking anyone who may have information on the case to contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
