According to the RCMP, the incident happened near Grindrod, along the 7100 block of Highway 97A, shortly after 5 p.m.

Police say the motorbike was the only vehicle involved in the crash, which claimed the life of the driver, a 35-year-old woman from Clearwater.

On Monday, RCMP said “the investigation has determined the motorcyclist was travelling in a group of riders when she unexpectedly lost control and was ejected from her bike. Sadly, despite lifesaving efforts of those at the scene, the 35-year-old woman was pronounced deceased.”

On behalf of the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP, I would like to extend our deepest condolences to the deceased’s family and friends, said Const. Chris Terleski.
