Residents in Saanich have voted in the 2022 B.C. municipal election.
In a very tight race, Global News projects Dean Murdock has won the mayor’s race in Saanich, beating out incumbent Fred Haynes, who had held the mayor’s seat since 2018. At that time, he captured more than 47 per cent of ballots against three other candidates.
Global News projects Saanich council will be made up of incumbents Colin Plant, Susan Brice, Zac de Vries, Judy Brownoff, Nathalie Chambers and Karen Harper, along with newcomers Mena Westhaver and Teale Phelps Bondaroff.
