Questions remain for Winnipeg police around an incident in August, in which an unknown man was found in medical distress outside a Main Street McDonald’s restaurant.
The man was believed to be in his late teens or early 20s, and was taken to hospital in serious condition.
Police said Thursday that the man, who remains unidentified, has since died. Although foul play isn’t suspected, investigators are reaching out to the public with more information in hopes of discerning his identity.
So far, police said, attempts to ID the man through fingerprints, missing person reports, and even dental records have come up empty.
He’s described as 6’0” tall and 160 lbs with no tattoos or piercings.
As far as police have been able to determine, the man boarded a Winnipeg Transit bus (route 15) at 12:34 a.m. on Aug. 5. He got off at Main Street and Mountain Avenue 10 minutes later, and walked to the McDonald’s at 1168 Main.
Police were called around 1:22 a.m. by a person concerned about the well-being of the man, who was in medical distress at the restaurant. Police and paramedics arrived and took him to hospital.
The man was wearing black pants and a pair of black size 11 Nike Air Jordan shoes, with red and purple accents.
