Suspicious packages prompt bridge closure

CALGARY- An iconic Calgary bridge had to be shut down on Friday afternoon, after a number of suspicious packages were discovered.

Police were called to the Peace Bridge downtown around 5 p.m., as well as the 10 Street bridge into Kensington, after three packages were found.

One was on the north entrance to the Peace Bridge, while another was on a walkway.

No traffic was affected as a result of the investigation.
