Global News is projecting that former councillor Julius Bloomfield has defeated incumbent John Vassilaki, who appears to be heading to a third-place finish in the five-candidate race.
Elected to council were James Miller and Campbell Watt, both incumbents, plus Amelia Boultbee, Ryan Graham, Helena Konanz and Isaac Gilbert.
In the 2018 municipal election, Vassilaki won the six-person race for mayor, garnering nearly 48 per cent of the vote. Placing second was Jason Cox at 24 per cent.
