A severe thunderstorm warning that was issued for Toronto and parts of the GTA Wednesday afternoon has been lifted.
Environment Canada issued a warning for Mississauga, Brampton, Burlington, Oakville, Halton Hills and Milton at 1:38 p.m.
Toronto was also placed under a warning just before 2 p.m., followed by Vaughan, Richmond Hill and Markham around half an hour later.
All warnings have since been lifted.
The weather agency said some affected areas could see pea- to dime-sized hail and heavy rain in the storm.
Local rainfall amounts of 50 mm within one hour were possible, Environment Canada said.
Social media users reported hail falling in northern Mississauga and in North York during the storm.
