‘Happy Gilmore’ actor arrested on suspicion of DUI

TORONTO — Actor Christopher McDonald, best known for movies like Happy Gilmore and the TV series Boardwalk Empire, was arrested early Wednesday on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, McDonald consented to a breathalyzer test after being stopped by a trooper in Wilmington, NC. Police said the 58-year-old star blew a .15 — nearly twice the legal limit.

McDonald was booked into jail at around 4:30 a.m. with a $1,000 bond.

The actor is in Wilmington to work on the movie The Squeeze.
