Thieves ram Vernon gun shop

VERNON — A Vernon gun shop has had to make repairs after someone drove a pick up truck through the front of the business.

RCMP Corporal Gerry Kovacs says the stolen truck was used as a battering ram to enter Del Selin’s Gunsmith on 28th Street Sunday night.

The suspects stole 5  Czeck SKS semi automatic assault style weapons.

The weapons are very similar in appearance to the AK 47, It is unknown if any ammunition was also taken.

The suspects fled in a silver coloured Chevrolet Optra with BC license plate 611 LWN, which police are asking for tips on.

The car was unique in having a white driver’s door and a brown front fender.

The value of the guns was not released, and Kovacs says their intended use is for target shooting.
