They say he had been a patient at the hospital since his wife, Helen, died of cancer in August.

The patient fell from a second-storey window at the Northside General Hospital on Sunday.

The man’s granddaughter, Lisa Capstick, says the family has hired a lawyer.

Lynn Gilbert, spokeswoman for the Cape Breton District Health Authority, confirms that an internal review has started.
