VANCOUVER — The RCMP are looking for a young man in a hoodie after a woman was sexually assaulted in her on-campus apartment building.
Police say the 20-year-old student was returning home at 3:30 a.m. when she was approached from behind by a man who came out of a stairwell.
The man attempted to take the woman’s coat off and put his hand under her skirt.
The woman screamed for help and broke free. The suspect fled on foot.
The suspect is described as Caucasian, in his mid- to late-20s. He is approximately 5’10” with a medium build and was wearing a dark hoodie.
The victim was unharmed and didn’t require any medical attention.
Police are asking for help in identifying the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call the University RCMP at 604-224-1322 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
RCMP are reminding everyone walking on campus at night to be vigilant of their surroundings.
