N.S. New Democrat politician Jim Morton to seek judicial recount

HALIFAX – The Nova Scotia NDP says one of its members who lost his seat in Tuesday’s provincial election will seek a recount.

Jim Morton was defeated in the riding of Kings North to Progressive Conservative John Lohr by 32 votes.

NDP spokeswoman Jennifer Stewart said in an email that the party will request a judicial recount.

Morton was elected in 2009.

Elections Nova Scotia says the deadline to request a recount of the results is Tuesday.
