CALGARY – RCMP have arrested a 21-year-old man who was allegedly caught travelling 64 kilometers over the speed limit on the QEII Highway while impaired.
An officer spotted the driver travelling northbound near the CrossIron Mills on Tuesday around 11 p.m.
He used his laser speed reader which recorded the young man as travelling 174 km/h.
When he stopped the vehicle, the officer discovered the driver had a Graduated Driver’s Licence, which prevents holders from driving after consuming any alcohol.
However, RCMP say both the driver and his passenger appeared impaired.
