WINNIPEG – An early morning house fire in Fort Rouge apparently started after a break-in.
The McMillan Avenue homeowner told police he was woken up by noise coming from his vacant upstairs suite.

When he checked on the noise, he saw a person run out the back and then discovered the fire in the suite, he told police.
The fire caused $250,000 to $300,000 damage.
The homeowner was uninjured.
The arson strike force is investigating.
