Two injured after crash, gas leak in Victoria

Victoria police are investigating after a collision caused a gas leak Monday afternoon.

According to police, two pedestrians were injured after  a car crashed into a bus stop at Shelbourne Street and Hillside Road at around 2 p.m.

The extent of their injuries is unknown.

The crash caused a natural gas leak and the intersection was shut off for several hours as police investigated the scene.

People in the area had to be evacuated.

Police said the gas leak was contained and Hillside Road re-opened just after 3 p.m., but Shelbourne Street remains closed.

Police would like to speak to any witnesses who may have helped move two injured pedestrians from the gas leak.
