Over 600 pot plants seized from rural grow op

CALGARY – One person is in custody and charges are pending after police uncovered a marijuana grow operation just outside of the city on Thursday.

Officers raided rural property south of the hamlet of Delacour and spent most of the day searching several large greenhouses there.

They seized 639 marijuana plants as well as the equipment used to grow them.

People living nearby say they had seen suspicious behaviour at the site, including a white van which would come and go but never stayed longer than half an hour.

Police haven’t yet released the street value of the plants they seized.
