TORONTO – The city got a preview of the Toronto Transit Commission’s (TTC) new articulated buses.
The TTC will start to roll out the longer buses onto some of the city’s busiest routes in December.

7 Bathurst – first bus December 2013
– 29 Dufferin – first bus January 2014
– 36 Finch West – Spring 2014
– 63 Ossington – Summer 2014
– 6 Bay – first bus Summer 2014
– 85 Sheppard East – Fall 2014
– 53 Steeles Express – Fall 2014
The total cost of the 153 new buses was approximately $143.7 million but the public transit agency is suggesting the cost is worth it.
The TTC claims there will be more reliable service, a 45 per cent increase in room for passengers on each bus and the new vehicles will lower operating costs.
All 153 buses are expected to be in service by January 2015.
