Lockdown lifted at Lloydminster schools

LLOYDMNINSTER, Sask. – Schools in the border city of Lloydminster returned to normal operations on Thursday.

A lockdown was placed on all public schools after high-risk sex offender Michael Stanley cut off his electronic monitoring device on Tuesday after traveling to the city from Edmonton.

RCMP believe it is very likely Stanley is no longer in Lloydminster.

Staff at public schools will continue to provide a high level of supervision as a precautionary measure.

At catholic schools, doors will remain locked for the remainder of the week as a precaution.
