GENEVA – The leaders of the International Luge Federation will meet in Austria this weekend to complete their investigation into the accident that killed Nodar Kumaritashvili at the Vancouver Olympics.
Senior officials from two panels expect to sign off on a report analysing the 21-year-old Georgian’s crash at the Whistler Sliding Center hours before the Games opened on Feb. 12.
He was flung from the ice and struck a steel pole after losing control of his sled on the final curve.
The report is expected to point to no single reason regarding why Kumaritashvili crashed. The document will be delivered to the IOC on Monday.
