Sask. athletes to be honoured

Saskatchewan based Olympic and Paralympic athletes will be celebrated in Regina tonight.

An event at the Casino Regina Show Lounge called the Night of Champions will be hosted by the Rotary Club of Regina Eastview and the Regina Food Bank. Money raised from the social event will go to educational programs supported by both organizations.

Olympians on hand include curling gold medalist Ben Hebert, speed skating gold medalist Lucas Makowsky and women’s cross country ski paralympian Colette Bourgonje.

There will be a silent and live auction, food and chances to mingle with the athletes.

Olympians:

Ben Hebert – Gold Medalist – Curling

Meaghan Simister – Luge

Regan Lauscher – Luge

Lyndon Rush –Bronze – Bobsleigh

Paralympians:

Colette Bourgonje – Silver and Bronze Medalist – Women’s Cross Country Skiing (Paralympian)
