CALGARY – A handful of new buses will be shipped to our city next year to replace some of Calgary Transit’s aging fleet.
The first of the 150 new 40-foot, heavy-duty, clean diesel buses is expected to arrive in December.

Officials say it will help support increasing ridership on the transit system.
“There is a great need for us to increase reliability by replacing older buses and improve accessibility with more low-floor buses,” says Calgary Transit Director Doug Morgan.
He says the new buses are more environmentally friendly than Calgary Transit’s old diesel buses.
Calgary Transit currently has 1,100 buses in its bus fleet.
