OxyContin was touted as a miracle painkiller to Canadian doctors: pain relief with few side effects and less addictive than morphine.  But soon this drug–known on the streets as “˜hillbilly heroin’–became the most prescribed drug in Canada… some say with tragic results. 16×9 tracks the king of painkillers’ fall from grace, ending in 100 families filing a lawsuit against the drug’s manufacturer.
