The family of Lilee-Jean Putt, the two-year-old Abbotsford girl who tragically lost her battle with brain cancer earlier this month, will hold a memorial Saturday.

The memorial will be held at 2 p.m. at the Abbotsford Pentecostal Assembly on Gladwin Road, which holds 1,500 people.

The family is also hoping to live stream the service online.

Thousands of people followed Lilee-Jean’s brave battle through the family’s blog and Facebook page and were touched by stories on Global BC.

In a Facebook post, Lilee-Jean’s parents said they were incredibly touched by all the love and support they have received from the public.

“Staying true to her life, We have decided that Lilee-Jean’s service will be open to the public, so all of you are invited to come celebrate her incredible two years of life with us,” Lilee-Jean’s mother Chelsey said in a Facebook post.

Doctors found a brain tumour when she was just 10 months old and diagnosed her with Glioblastoma, a type of brain cancer.

In August, doctors said there was nothing more they could do and said it was unlikely she would make it past December.

The communities of Abbotsford and Chilliwack rallied to give Lilee-Jean some great memories by celebrating Halloween, Christmas and bringing in truckloads of snow.
