Following an Ontario company’s offer to store patient records, residents are being warned not to sign up. The Saskatchewan Information and Privacy Commissioner, Gary Dickson has identified services by DOCUdavit Services Inc. (DSI) as being inconsistent with The Health Information Protection Act. In a media release, the Commissioner says DSI has been distributing promotional literature describing the services it’s offering Saskatchewan physicians who are contemplating retirement.
Saskatchewan patients who have received notice from DSI about how to access their information are encouraged to contact their physician, or the College of Physicians and Surgeons.
