U of R developing plan for future

The future is the topic of discussion at the University of Regina tonight as the campus develops a new Master Plan for future development.

Everyone who deals with the university, including students, workers and people who use the facilities is asked to give their input into how the campus could be changed or improved. In particular the university is looking into improving accessibility and sustainability.

Vianne Timmons, the president of the campus, says it is important to take into account the needs of the people who use the facility everyday.

“As part of the community, the University of Regina always welcomes comments from the public,” Timmons said in a news release. “The reason for doing a Campus Master Plan is so the University can meet the changing needs of students, staff, faculty and the larger community in the years to come.”

The event will be held at the University’s Riddell Centre from 7 – 9 p.m. Completion of the plan is expected in December 2010 while implementation will begin in 2011.
