A man has been arrested after the suspicious death of a 14-month-old baby girl in Chilliwack, according to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.
Sgt. Jennifer Pound said in a statement that officials were called to a home in the Promontory area at around Friday night and found the baby in medical distress.
The baby was taken to hospital where doctors tried to revive her, but she tragically died shortly after 11 p.m.

IHIT was called in to investigate due to the suspicious nature of the death.
Police cordoned off the home at 46330 Mullins Road as they gathered evidence Saturday afternoon.
Pound said foul play is suspected and a man has been arrested and remains in custody, however he hasn’t been charged.
An autopsy will be performed to determine how the baby died.
