HALIFAX – A multi-vehicle accident on the Bedford Highway Friday morning sent six people to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

Jill Taylor drove by the scene of the accident, moments after it happened.

“Something drastic must have happened at speed to create what we were seeing there,” she said. ” I can’t get the image of that shoe lying in the road out of my head. It’s very, very unnerving.”

A firefighter was extracting a person from a red truck when Taylor drove by.

The accident had traffic on Highway 102 backed up to Lacewood Drive.
