Calgary launches rewards program to promote pet licensing

CALGARY- The City of Calgary has launched the “I Heart My Pet” rewards program to encourage the licensing of dogs and cats.

Starting in March, citizens who purchase a pet licence will receive a pet rewards card with their annual renewal notice.  The card earns discounts on products and services from 22 partner merchants.

“For Calgarians, this is an additional reward for being a licensed responsible pet owner,” said Bill Bruce, director of animal and bylaw services.

“The first reward is protecting your pet and helping Calgary work towards realizing a goal of becoming a city where all pets are cared for and wanted. As a second reward, by using the I Heart My Pet card just a couple of times, you could recoup the cost of your pet licensing fees.”
