ATHENS – Seismologists say a 4.8-magnitude earthquake has rattled central Greece, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
The Athens Geodynamic Institute said the quake occurred at 6:01 p.m. (1501 GMT) on Monday, about 175 km northwest of Athens, near the coastal town of Kammena Vourla.

Local government officials said there were no immediate reports of damaged homes.
On Aug. 7, a magnitude 5.1 quake hit the same region, causing damage to some 300 buildings. The extent of the damage was only clear several days later during inspections.
