Carlene Walters’ family has been waiting for her safe return for 24 days now. The 52-year-old woman left her Regina home on December 30th, and there’s been no sign of her since. The family says they are still dedicating hours every day to search for the missing woman, even using snowmobiles to scour the city at night.
Tonight, talks of a happy reunion are slowing. Her daughter, Rylend Firnesz says while the family hasn’t entirely given up hope, they are now hoping to find closure.
"We are being realistic here. She might be outside. There’s a good chance she could be outside," Firnesz said Friday afternoon. "You never know. We’re not ruling any possibility out, she could be somewhere safe, of course. That’s the best ending we could ask for, but we’re keeping all possibilities in mind and preparing for that."
After four weeks of searching, police have put off looking until more concrete tips come in. If you have any information on Walters’ whereabouts, please contact police or Crime Stoppers.
