Double-murder trial starts

WINNIPEG — The double-murder trial of a 29-year-old man started Monday in Winnipeg.

Kenneth Roulette is charged with first-degree murder for the deaths of Dennis Baptiste and Jessie Henderson, both 23, more than four years ago.

The Crown prosecutor says the three were friends who went to a street party before returning to a housing complex.

It’s alleged the victims were stabbed multiple times before the accused went to the stove, started a fire and left.

All three men have been connected to street gangs, with the Crown saying the two victims were drug dealers tied to the Mad Cowz gang.
