Cherry Jones received critical acclaim and an Emmy® Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of steadfast President Allison Taylor on 24. A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, Jones’ talent and passion for performing led her to Broadway where she captured the attention of theater-goers and critics alike.
Jones earned her first Tony Award® nomination in 1994 for her performance in Our Country’s Good, but it was her role as Catherine Sloper in the Lincoln Center’s revival of The Heiress that won her the Tony® for Best Actress. Jones went on to star in Tennessee Williams’ The Night of the Iguana and gave another Tony Award®-nominated performance in Eugene O’Neill’s A Moon for the Misbegotten. In 2005, Jones nabbed her second Tony® for her performance in John Patrick Shanley’s Doubt
