Vancouver Police are looking for a man they believe is responsible for the assault of two sex trade workers on Monday.
At about 5:30 a.m. on September 2, a sex trade worker says she was approached by a man, in the area of in the area of Kingsway and Tyne Street, who asked for sex. After the exchange of money, the man then became very agitated and demanded his money back. He then punched her in the face. She screamed, which alerted others nearby, and the man then fled on foot.
Police were called and officers started a search for the suspect. During that search, police found a second victim who said she had also just been attacked in a very similar manner. However, in her case, a man requesting sex for money had hit her in the arm with a bat or a pipe after demanding his money back.
A number of police officers, including a police dog, attempted to locate the suspect, but were not successful.
One woman received bruising to her face and the other suffered a possible fracture to her elbow.
Police are looking for a man they believe to be Caucasian, mid 20s, with a slim build and clean-shaven. He was wearing jeans, a grey or beige sweatshirt and reddish baseball cap.
