Influenza Immunization Clinics: Update
EDMONTON – H1N1 and seasonal influenza vaccine continue to be available at mass vaccination clinics in Edmonton. As of Saturday, December 12, two of the city’s clinics will close and will not be reopening. See detailed clinic hours, below.
All Albertans over six months of age are eligible to receive the H1N1 vaccine, and all individuals in high-risk categories are also eligible to receive the seasonal influenza vaccine. Visit www.albertahealthservices.ca for immunization information, including seasonal vaccine eligibility.
Please be advised of the following immunization clinic hours and locations:
*Clinic Closures: Immunization clinics at Commonwealth Stadium and Rutherford Health Centre will be closed as of 4 p.m. Saturday, December 12 and will not be reopening.
Sunday, December 13 – All immunization clinics will be closed.
*Clinic Closures: Immunization clinics at St. Albert (Grandin Plaza) and Strathcona Health Centre will be closed as of 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 16 and will not be reopening.
*Clinic Closure: Immunization clinics at Northgate Health Centre will be closed as of 4 p.m. Saturday, December 19 and not be reopening.
Sunday, December 20 – All immunization clinics will be closed.
Vaccine will continue to be available to all Albertans as long as demand exists. Immunization is the single best defense against influenza. A third wave of influenza is expected in the New Year, and we recommend all Albertans over six months of age protect themselves by getting immunized in the coming weeks.
