The OPP issued the provincewide alert just before 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday and three hours later the girl was reported by officers to have been found.

It wasn’t disclosed exactly how the girl was found, but a Barrie police statement Tuesday morning said the girl was located in Guelph and officers went there to pick her up.

A Guelph police spokesperson told Global News the girl appeared to be in good health. The representative said the incident appeared to be connected to “an ongoing family dispute.”

As of early Tuesday, it wasn’t clear what, if any, charges might be laid in connection with the incident.
