Halton Regional Police say a 18-month-old child was pulled from the pool of a Burlington home and taken to hospital Sunday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to a residence near Kevin Crescent and Folkway Drive at 1:48 p.m. for reports a child had reportedly drowned in a swimming pool.
Police said life saving measures were performed and the child was transported to hospital where they remain in critical condition.
As of Monday morning, the 1-and-a-half-year-old’s condition has not changed, police told Global News.
Investigators did not reveal the gender of the child but did say the child does reside where the incident occurred.
An investigation is underway to determine what exactly happened, police said.
