Global News projects Tim Cartmell has won the seat in pihêsiwin.
With all polls reporting Tuesday morning, unofficial election results show Cartmell received 81.24 per cent of the vote.
Cartmell was the incumbent, seeking re-election in this southwest Edmonton ward.

Edmonton’s municipal wards will be redrawn and renamed effective election day Oct. 18. Formerly Ward 9, this ward is being renamed pihêsiwin (Pronunciation: Pee-hay-soo-win).
Cartmell is running against one other candidate in pihêsiwin.
Here’s a quick look at the candidates running for council in pihêsiwin.
Tim Cartmell
Cartmell is seeking a second term as the councillor in this ward, after being elected in the 2017 municipal election.
He is a small business owner and professional engineer.
Cartmell currently serves on a number of city committees, and is running to ensure the residents of pihêsiwin are heard at city council.

Guiscela Perez Arellano
Born in Mexico, Perez Arellano has lived in a number of countries, including Germany. She became a Canadian citizen in 2019.
She says living abroad has given her a global perspective on important humans rights issues.
Perez Arellano says she believes in equal representation and wants to bring a different perspective to the table.

In total, 11 people are running for mayor and 74 candidates are running for city council. Eight people are running to become Edmonton Catholic School Board trustees, six of whom have been acclaimed. There are 40 people are running to become Edmonton Public School Board trustees.
Advance voting will take place from Oct. 4 to Oct. 13, including Thanksgiving Monday (Oct. 11).
Election day is Monday, Oct. 18.
