WATCH: Did Miley Cyrus’ performance at the MTV Video Music Awards go too far? Peter Kim reports.
TORONTO — Miley Cyrus stole the spotlight Sunday night at the MTV Video Music Awards with a sexually-charged — and slightly bizarre — performance that left everyone buzzing.
She straddled a giant bear with her tongue out, “motorboarded” and slapped a woman’s buttocks, touched herself with a giant foam finger and paraded around in flesh-coloured underwear — all before bumping and grinding against married father-of-one Robin Thicke.
“That performance should’ve NEVER been allowed!,” tweeted singer Teddy Sandman. “@MileyCyrus is a disgrace to the art of music! Get ur daughter under control @billyraycyrus.”
Rapper Ilych Sato opined online: “Miley Cyrus is a perfect example of whats wrong with the world today…I mean everything. Content, costume, etc. This is whats IN…”
