TORONTO — A little bit of rain and lightning wasn’t enough to keep dozens of fans from showing up early Monday in downtown Toronto for an acoustic performance by R5.
The California-based group of Lynch siblings — Riker, Rocky, Ross and Rydel — and family friend Ellington Ratliff appeared on Global’s The Morning Show.
With a full-length album due out in September, R5 has been drawing crowds on the strength of its four-song EP Loud and the album’s first single “Pass Me By.”
“We’re all just about having fun,” explained 21-year-old Riker, who also appears as a Warbler on Glee. “When we’re on stage we have so much fun together and we just like making music.
“We just keep working hard and try to play the best shows and make the best music that we can.”
Ross, 17, is also famous for his role as Austin Moon on the kids’ series Austin & Ally and for starring as Brady in Disney’s Teen Beach Movie.

For Rydel, life on the road with her brothers and their friend isn’t all that bad.
“It’s actually quite fun,” said the 20-year-old. “They’re nuts and crazy in a good way. We just have a blast. I keep them in check.”
She also keeps them in shape.
“I’m the best football player,” said Rydel.
