Saskatchewan RCMP identify dead boy, 6

BROADVIEW, Sask. – RCMP have identified the boy who died after disappearing in an aboriginal community in southeastern Saskatchewan.

Dead is six-year-old Lee Allan Bonneau.

Investigators say he was last seen alive around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday playing outside with dogs on Kahkewistahaw (kah-kah-WIH’-stih-hah) First Nation.

The boy was reported missing at around 10:00 p.m., was found around 10:20 p.m. and died of his injuries in hospital.

The cause of his death, which is being investigated by RCMP major crimes officers, has not been released.

On Wednesday RCMP said the boy was under the care of the Yorkton Tribal Council Child and Family Services, but police now say that was not correct.
