The operator of a second motorcycle, a 20-year-old man, was taken into custody, however charges have not yet been laid.

McKercher Drive was closed for a number of hours while police carried out their investigation.

Police say street racing is one possible cause of the crash but haven’t ruled out other possibilities and will be interviewing witnesses on Thursday.
