Canada election results: Leeds–Grenville–Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes

Conservative incumbent Michael Barrett is projected to win Leeds–Grenville–Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes.

Barrett secured victory in the riding with nearly 50 per cent of the vote and 55 per cent of polls reporting by 11:15 p.m. Monday.

Barrett was first elected in the riding in a 2018 byelection after the sudden death of longtime MP Gord Brown.

Brown served as MP in the Leeds—Grenville riding from 2004 until his death.

Barrett recaptured the seat in the 2019 election with almost 50 per cent of the vote.

The riding’s population as of 2016 was 100,546, according to the 2016 census, and is located in southern Ontario. The riding includes the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, the city of Brockville and the towns of Gananoque and Prescott.

Leeds—Grenville was reconstituted to Leeds–Grenville–Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes during the 2012 electoral boundaries redistribution.
