Yves Perron is the projected winner of Berthier—Maskinongé.
Berthier—Maskinongé was re-created in 2004 after being dissolved in the late 1980s.
The municipal and electoral boundaries of the riding consist of the regional county municipalities of D’Autray and Maskinongé. The riding also includes the former Municipality of Pointe-du-Lac and the former City of Trois-Rivières-Ouest in the City of Trois-Rivières.
Bloc Québécois member Guy André held the seat from 2004 until 2011 when he was defeated by NDP candidate Ruth Ellen Brosseau.
Brosseau was criticized for taking a trip to Las Vegas during the campaign and was nicknamed ‘Vegas girl.’ She became part of the so-called orange wave upon being elected in 2011, when the NDP saw its seat count rise from one to 59 in Quebec.
The Bloc Québécois’ Yves Perron won the seat in 2019.
