Alberta’s own Nickelback will be joined by acts such as Jann Arden, Tom Cochrane, Corb Lund, Randy Bachman and Matthew Good. Organizers even had to turn away some perfomers who wanted to take part.
More than 30,000 tickets have been sold, and organizers hope that will help raise $2 million for flood relief.
“The proceeds are coming from things like T-shirt sales, and the McMahon Stadium society is donating the proceeds from their food and beverage sales,” explains organizer Petere Jurisic. “We’re doing the text to donate feature, where you can text AB Flood to 20222 and that will raise $10 every time somebody does that.”
The concert is expected to run for five hours.
