UPDATE: Body found in Polson Park

Update: RCMP say an autopsy is complete and say that foul play did not play a role in the man’s death.  RCMP say they’re still trying to establish the man’s identity.

 

VERNON — RCMP are investigating after a body was discovered at the south end of Polson Park near the overflow parking lot.

A passerby discovered the body at around 2:00 p.m. Monday and alerted RCMP.

Police are releasing few details at this time.

There is no word on the cause of death, or if its deemed suspicious and at this point RCMP can’t confirm if the body is that of a man or woman.

“The Serious Crime unit is on the scene conducting the investigation” says Vernon RCMP Spokesman, Gord Molendyk.

“Police are expected to be at this location for many hours while they investigate.”

Police have cordoned off the south end of the park as part of the investigation.
