The plane was a heavy strategic bomber and one of the most important aircraft in use during the Second World War, according to the museum.

It carried a significant amount of armament and played a key role in winning the war in Europe, the museum’s website says. The RCAF flew the planes with a crew of 10 and many Canadians served on the craft.

For an extra $5 charge, people can climb aboard the craft to see its equipment.
