42-year-old dies in Sylvan Lake after going into medical distress

The RCMP is reporting that a 42-year-old man from Red Deer has died after going into medical distress at Sylvan Lake on Saturday

Witnesses report to have seen the man swimming in the lake near a boat when he went into distress, and then disappeared under the water.

Some of the witnesses were able to pull the man out of the water and perform CPR until first responders arrived.

The man was transported to the Red Deer hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of his death is unknown, but police do not consider the incident suspicious.
