TORONTO – Police are searching for a suspect after a cyclist was struck by a car in the downtown area early Saturday morning.
The incident occurred on Spadina Avenue near College St. when a woman riding her bicycle southbound was struck by a car at around 3 a.m. Saturday.
The female cyclist suffered a head injury and was rushed to St. Michael’s hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver failed to remain at the scene of the accident.
Police are searching for what is believed to be a silver Pontiac wanted in connection with the hit and run.
One man has been taken into custody for allegedly trying to steal the victim’s belongings as she lay on the ground.
Police are asking anyone with information to call Toronto Police Services or Crimestoppers.
